Grachia Ann Riesterer Smith, age 73, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Sweet Springs Villa.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at First Assembly of God Church in Sweet Springs, with Pastor Tommy Mapes officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Methodist Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Born December 12, 1947 in Warrensburg, MO, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. Riesterer and Virginia Hewitt Markham. Grachia was raised in the Concordia area and was a 1965 graduate of Concordia High School. On June 5, 1967, she married Jimmy Dean Smith who preceded her in death on October 30, 1995. Grachia worked at Higginsville Habilitation Center as a developmental assistant until her retirement. She had lived in Sweet Springs since 1974 and was an active member of the community.

Survivors include three children: Chrislyn Kay Smith of Blue Springs, Janetta Ann Smith of Sweet Springs and Timothy Dean Smith (Debbie) of Sweet Springs; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Grachia was preceded in death by her brother, David Riesterer; and her stepfather, George Markham.
