On Monday, August 2, the Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force brief stated the county has experienced an increase of 199 positive COVID-19 cases in the past week, along with 379 cases in the past 2 weeks. The DHSS website is reporting Pettis County has a positivity rate of 18.2% for the past 7 days as compared to 19.7% last week with PCR testing.

The Department of Health and Senior Service’s website reported Pettis County having a positivity rate of 18.2% during the past 7 days, compared to 19.7% last week with PCR testing. There were 826 PCR tests and 453 antigen tests in the past 7 days.

Health officials say since July 1, there have been 608 positive tests and 109 tests were in children age 0 to 18, which is 17.93% of cases.

To assist with continued testing, the DHSS is offering free in home testing. An individual may request test kits on the website. Two test kits will be good for 6 months and can be mailed to the requestor with a postage paid envelop to return the sample. The website for ordering is available at this link.

Vaccination options include walk-in clinics at Pettis County Health Center every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 pm. First doses are available as well as second doses for those unable to make their second dose appointment. If you would like to make register, you can call (660) 827-1130. However, appointments are not required.
