The number of active COVID-19 cases increased in Lafayette County on Thursday, September 16.

According to the Lafayette County Health Department, down to 62 on Tuesday, September 14, the active case count was 71 on Thursday.

There have been 70 COVID-19-related deaths and 3,419 total positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Currently, there are 17 persons hospitalized due to COVID-19.

The county’s positivity rate is 11.29 percent per the CDC COVID Data Tracker.

As of Thursday, 38.9 percent of the county’s residents were fully vaccinated; and 44.1 percent of its residents had received at least one dose.

If you haven’t been vaccinated and would like to be, you can visit the health department’s office for walk-in services from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays or Wednesdays.
