Ernest Lee “Ernie” Meyers, age 84, of Concordia, MO, died Saturday, September 18, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia, with Rev. Dr. Alan Gatewood officiating, where visitation begins at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Born December 14, 1936, in Corder, MO, he was the son of the late Delmar L. Meyers and Paula S. Langkrahr Meyers.  Ernie lived in Lafayette County his entire life and was a 1954 graduate of Concordia High School.  On September 2, 1955, he married Donna M. Rogers and they were blessed to have just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.  Ernie served two years in the Missouri Army National Guard and then began his career with Rohmans Thriftway.  He worked as a clerk, butcher and then retired from there as the assistant manager.  Following his retirement, he worked as the lake warden for the city of Concordia.  Ernie was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, Donna; he is survived by two children, Roger Meyers (Debbie) of Concordia and Nancy Meyers-Harvey (Scott) of Lenexa, KS; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Meyers and David Meyers, both of Concordia; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy L. Meyers; and one brother, Donald Meyers.
