Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia has been notified that Governor Mike Parson’s Office has approved funding that will extend the state-run Monoclonal Antibody Infusion Center located at the health center for an additional 30 days.
A press release says the center opened on the hospital’s third floor on August 25 for an initial 30 days, and state-contracted staff has provided monoclonal antibody infusion treatment to eligible people who tested positive for COVID-19 or who had symptoms due to a high-risk exposure. Monoclonal antibodies are proteins that can help your body fight off COVID-19 and reduce the risk of severe disease and hospitalization.
People may call their physician or call the infusion center at (660) 829-6647 to find out if they are eligible for the treatment. Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday, and there is no cost for the treatment.
