Lucille M. Hisle, age 89, of Marshall and formerly of Miami, died Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the Arbors of Westport Estates in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 2, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Masks are appreciated at the services. Burial will follow at Miami Cemetery.

Born Jan. 8, 1932, in rural Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Emmit Pittman and Margaret Sherlock Pittman. Lucille was a lifelong resident of Saline County and graduated from Mercy Academy in 1950. On Aug. 8, 1953, she married Robert “Bob” Hisle at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shackelford, Mo.

In addition to providing support to the family on the farm, she later was employed at the Marshall Housing Authority as an accountant before being elected as the Presiding Commissioner on the Saline County Commission.

Before and after retirement, she served and supported a number of local organizations including St. Peter’s Altar and Rosary Society and the Monday Club. She also was an active supporter of the Miami Lions Club and Friends of Miami organization.
Maintaining her involvement in local issues, she was an active member and past president of the Saline County Women’s Jefferson Democrat Club and the Saline County Democrat Club.

Survivors include three sons, Rob Hisle (Lori) of Stilwell, KS, Rick Hisle (Sarah) of Sedalia, MO and Larry Hisle of Stilwell, KS; son-in-law, Burt Chevalier of the state of Florida; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Chevalier; and six siblings.
