A 59-year-old Marshall man had to be flown from the scene of a traffic crash in Saline County on Friday, September 24.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by John Lappin, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a sign and a tree.

Lappin was flown by Life Flight helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash happened at 6:30 p.m. on 116th Trail, east of U.S. Highway 65.
