Earning first place in three different categories, Oak Grove was named Grand Champion at the 51st Carrollton Band Day celebration on Saturday, September 25.

According to results released by Carrollton Band Director David Phillips, the Panthers were voted first in the Class 4 Parade, Indoor Drumline and Field Caption awards- Outstanding Drum Major.

Other winners in Class 4 were Warrensburg and Smithville tying for Indoor Auxiliary and Field Caption awards- Outstanding Auxiliary; Lansing Outstanding Drumline; and Warrensburg in Field Competition.

Results in Class 5 were: Belton in Parade; North Kansas City in Indoor Auxiliary; St. Joseph Central in Indoor Drumline and Outstanding Auxiliary; Belton in Outstanding Drumline; North Kansas City in Outstanding Drum Major; and St. Joseph Central in Field Competition.
