Area residents are invited to a free event at an area state park on Saturday, October 9.

According to a news release, History HallowFest is scheduled to be held at Knob Noster State Park. The event is scheduled to run from 2 to 8 p.m. at Camp Bobwhite to help celebrate the park’s 75th birthday.

Individual attractions include:
— Frosty Morning Trio – traditional acoustic music: 4 to 6 p.m.
— Hayrides: every 45 minutes from 2 to 7 p.m. (Limit of 25 people per ride)
— Halloween games: 2 to 8 p.m.
— Self-guided spooky scavenger hike: 2 to 8 p.m.
— Creepy crawler program: 2 to 8 p.m.
— Obstacle course for kids: 2 to 8 p.m.
— Knob Noster Lions Club food stand: 2 to 8 p.m.
— Hip Hop Poppin kettle corn vendor: 2 to 8 p.m.
— KN Revitalization Booth: 2 to 8 p.m.
— Old Drum Leather Works: 2 to 8 p.m.
— Soap and lotion vendor: 2 to 8 p.m.

A storyteller also has joined the fun, and will be telling spooky stories from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Historical artifacts will be on display, too.

Due to a conflict, Critter Hill Farm will not be in attendance.

Organizers say you are welcome to wear a costume; and you should bring a flashlight.
