For the period of October 4 through 10, there were 80 positive COVID-19 tests reported in Pettis County.

According to the Pettis County Health Center, 12 positives were persons fully vaccinated for a breakthrough rate of 15 percent. Most of the breakthrough cases received the Pfizer vaccine. The month of last vaccination for the highest number of cases was February with seven, followed by March with three and April and July with one each.

According to minutes from the Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force meeting on Tuesday, October 12, as of October 11, there were a total of 7,235 cases as compared to 7,151 on October 4 and 7,056 on September 27. This is an increase of 84 cases in the past week and 179 cases in the past two weeks.

The DHSS website is reporting Pettis County has a positivity rate of 8.6 percent for the past seven days, which is a decrease from 11.2 percent for the previous week with PCR testing.

The groups with the highest number of new cases were 13 to 18 year olds with 10 and 35 to 39 year olds with eight.

As of Friday, there were 920 hospitalized in Missouri as compared to 1,420 hospitalized with COVID the previous week. There are 241 people in ICU and 176 on ventilators as compared to 367 people in ICU and 252 on ventilators the previous week.
