Edith Mae Payne, age 88, of Marshall, MO, died Monday, October 18, 2021, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 21, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born March 23, 1933, in Cooper County, MO, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. Overstreet and Alpha Mae Fischer Overstreet. In 1957, she married Charles M. “Puddin” Payne who preceded her in death on December 21, 2019.  She lived in Marshall most of her life and was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church. She retired from the Marshall Habilitation Center after over 45 years of service. She was an avid reader and loved to quilt.

Survivors include three children, Donna Lyon (Terry), Daryl Perkins (Brenda) and Roger Payne all of Marshall; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Josie Smith of Hutchinson, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Edith was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Lee Payne.
