A Warsaw woman charged with felonies after law-enforcement officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on December 22, 2020, has a court proceeding scheduled.

A press release says the Benton County Sheriff’s Department received a call in reference to a domestic disturbance during which a male subject was shot and killed. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it appeared the victim had died as a result of a single gunshot wound to his upper torso. It was determined that Patricia Garvey allegedly had shot him during an argument. Garvey claims the gun went off accidentally when the man swiped the muzzle of the gun to the side.

Court documents say Garvey is charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action. Garvey posted $25,000 surety bond on December 29.

Garvey’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 am. on Monday, October 25, at Benton County Circuit Court.
