Ruth A. Yokley, 94, of rural Sweet Springs, died Sunday, October 31, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Emma with Pastor Tim Biesemeyer officiating.  Burial will follow in Hazel Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to St. John’s United Church of Christ in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born November 29, 1926, in Saline County, MO, she was the daughter of the late Edward Hemme and Lydia Kirchhoff Hemme.  On May 20, 1948, she married Samuel A. Yokley who preceded her in death on July 7, 1975.  Ruth lived in rural Sweet Springs her entire life where she farmed.  She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Emma.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Mendy Lovercamp (Josh) and Jon Yokley (Amber), all of rural Sweet Springs; five great-grandchildren: Cole Lovercamp, Kinlea Lovercamp, Madisen Thornton, Bailey Thornton and Jace Yokley; her daughter-in-law, Mary Yokley of rural Sweet Springs; one brother, Kenneth Hemme (Doris) of Concordia; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Sam Ed Yokley; two brothers, Glenn Hemme and Burdett Hemme; and three sisters, Mary Borgstadt, Dorothy Hemme and Betty Driver.
