A Slater man who changed his plea to a felony assault charge in court recently is going to be spending time in state prison.
In a probable-cause statement, authorities say Daniel Lee Hamblen and another person assaulted a man on October 3, 2020.
Court documents say Hamblen, who originally pleaded not guilty, amended his plea to guilty of third-degree assault earlier this month at Saline County Circuit Court.
Hamblen was found to be a prior and persistent offender and was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
