No one was killed in a traffic crash in Missouri during the 78-hour 2022 New Year’s holiday counting period

According to a release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the counting period began at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021, and ended at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, January 2. There were no boating crashes nor drownings during the time frame, as well.

Troopers investigated 406 traffic crashes- 91 of which involved injuries- and 94 persons were arrested for allegedly Driving While Impaired.

Last year during the same counting period, there were 1,247 traffic crashes statewide. In those crashes, six people were killed and another 389 people were injured. Troopers worked 173 crashes, including three fatalities and 48 injuries, and arrested 94 people for allegedly Driving While Impaired.
