During the closed session of the Marshall Public Schools’ special board meeting, on Tuesday, January 11, Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher submitted her letter of retirement.

Dr. Maher began serving as interim superintendent for the school district at the beginning of the 2014-15 school year. She explained how she assumed the role as superintendent the following academic year.

Dr. Maher says completing the renovations at MHS has been the districts biggest project this semester. She hopes to get students back into the classrooms by March 22 – the day following spring break.

As Dr. Maher enters a new chapter in her life, she says she will miss the administrative teams, teachers and students the most.

Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher’s retirement will go into effect June 30, 2022.
