Mildred was born on the family farm on April 7, 1923, along with her twin brother, Marvin. She was the daughter of the late Theodore Flandermeyer and Meta Hinck Flandermeyer and is the very last of her generation to pass away. She was baptized by L. Friedrich Brust and confirmed in the German class under the direction of Rev. O.E. Heilman at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia with John 3:16 as her confirmation verse. Mildred was united in marriage to Eldred H. Bredehoeft on April 6, 1947, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev. O.E. Heilman officiating. Eldred preceded her in death on June 6, 2007. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Concordia V.F.W. Auxiliary. She often credited her long life to growing up on a farm and all that went with it from milking cows to tending chickens which gave her enjoyment later in life working at the Turkey Hatchery. The family was blessed to benefit from her many loaves of homemade bread, jellies and recipes handed down. She will be remembered for her strong faith in Jesus, her Christian example of living and her love for her family. Her 98 years this side of Heaven still seems too short for us. We are confident in the fact that she is now with her Lord which she had been looking forward to for some time.

Mildred is survived by her eight children: Dennis Bredehoeft (Kathy) of Kansas City, MO, Peggy Schnakenberg of Higginsville, MO, David Bredehoeft (Julia) of Emma, Darrell Bredehoeft (Marianne) of Vancouver, WA, Russell Bredehoeft (Janis) of Concordia, Gary Bredehoeft (Jennifer) of Concordia, Susan Petersen (Joel) of Kansas City, MO and Mark Bredehoeft (Sabine) of Grandview, MO; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and two on the way; eight great-great-grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by five brothers: Norbert, Edwin, Arnold, Harold and Marvin Flandermeyer; one sister, Ellen Bredehoeft; one son-in-law, Maurice Schnakenberg; and two daughters-in-law, Rhonda Bredehoeft and Brenda Bredehoeft.
