Elwood Eugene Waller, 81, of Nelson, MO, died Thursday, January 20, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 27, at Nelson Cemetery in Nelson with William W. Harlow officiating.  There will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Nelson Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born December 4, 1940, at Nelson, he was the son of the late Eugene Ellsworth Waller and Rosa Martha Gramlich Waller.  Elwood lived in the Nelson area his entire life and was a 1958 graduate of Nelson High School.  Following high school, he attended one year of college at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was a member of the R.O.T.C.  Elwood was involved in farming and livestock trading his entire life.  He was an active member of the Nelson community having served on the city council as well as serving as treasurer of Nelson Cemetery.

Survivors include three sisters: Marge Redmond (Lee) of Lohman, Wanda Smith of Nelson, and Doris Root (Eddie) of rural Blackwater; one brother, Gary Waller (Deborah) of rural Nelson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Elwood was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Wendell Waller; and one sister, Allison Smith.
