Evergy Missouri Metro and Evergy Missouri West have filed an application with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking a variance from certain Commission rules concerning the use of the remote disconnect and reconnect services capability of AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) meters already deployed.
According to a news release, the requested variances would allow Evergy to disconnect and reconnect customers without having to go to the customer’s home or business. Evergy would also eliminate the current collection and re-connection fees for such customers. According to the application, the requested variances are only for the Evergy Missouri customers who have an installed AMI meter with service disconnect capabilities.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed no later than March 4, 2022, with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at www.psc.mo.gov.
