The rate of COVID-19 cases has decreased with positive percentage rates falling below two percent.

According to Pettis County Health Center officials, as of March 14 there were 11,912 positive cases reported, as compared to 11,882 positive cases  on March 7, and 11,789 positive cases reported on February 28. This is an increase of 30 cases in the past week and 58 cases in the past two weeks.

The Department of Health and Senior Service’s website reports the county has a positivity rate of 1.8 percent for the past seven days as compared to 4.7 percent for last week with PCR testing.

With seven out of 13 individuals classified as fully vaccinated, the county reports 58 percent breakthrough cases. A“breakthrough” case is when a person tests positive for COVID-19 at least two weeks after becoming fully vaccinated.

With an additional death, the county’s total is 155 since the beginning of the pandemic, and there are no patients currently hospitalized nor on a ventilator.
