The Salvation Army is famous for its work with people who have fallen on hard times. It offers help to the elderly, the young, blind and disabled people and more. It provides food and shelter for the homeless and operates food distribution centers, as well.

At present time, the Salvation Army of Sedalia is seeking donations of new or used working fans to help community members without air conditioning stay cool this summer.

Agency officials say all fans will be given to those without A/C- with priority given to elderly, children and disabled persons- free of charge.

If you would like to donate a fan, you can drop them off at either of two locations: the Salvation Army Thrift Store at 601 South Ohio Avenue; or the Salvation Army Service Center at 1200 East Broadway Boulevard.

The agency would like all donations in by Tuesday, May 31.

If you need more information, call the Thrift Store at (660) 826-5553 or the Service Center at (660) 826-1525.
