An Odessa man is has been charged with a felony after an incident on June 22.

According to a probable cause statement, authorities were dispatched to an Odessa residence following the report of a disturbance. Authorities arrived on the scene, where a woman asked officers to help her father, who reportedly had a laceration across his left eyebrow. Odessa E.M.S. was in route and the man was transported to an area hospital. The injuries were allegedly caused by Allen Love, who spoke with officers at the scene. Love said he got into an argument with the woman before striking her father multiple times in the head. The victim suffered a concussion, a left orbital floor fracture, and a left periorbital facial laceration.

Court documents say Love is charged with a felony for assault in the first degree. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety with 10% approved.

Love is scheduled to be arraigned at 10 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
