Wilbert G. Freund, 90, of rural Concordia, MO, died Monday, August 8, 2022, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia with Pastor Michael Pottschmidt and Pastor Andrew Lehenbauer officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to The Lutheran Hour, Lutheran Bible Translators or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born October 1, 1931, in rural Concordia, he was the son of the late C. Theodore Freund and Anna M. Lohmann Freund. Wilbert was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. On September 23, 1956, he married Lenora J. Strahle who preceded him in death on December 29, 2014. He was a dairy farmer most of his life. Wilbert was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he was in the Walther League for the church during his youth.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Freund (Joyce) and Lyle Freund all of rural Concordia; one daughter, Marla Dierking (Joel) of rural Blackburn; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Wilbert was preceded in death by one daughter, Ellen Esther Freund, and one sister, Luella Martha Meta Lange.
