The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works accepted a bid for a utility task vehicle for the Water Treatment facility.

The board previously agreed to request bids to replace the water treatment facility’s utility task vehicle. The current vehicle is a 2003 John Deere Gator. The board opened bids on August 2, and sent out requests to 13 dealers and only received one bid. The bid came out at $6,200 over-budget. Water Treatment Director Travis Boss explained this isn’t the first time the board has requested bids to replace this vehicle.

The total cost of the bid is $31,200, several thousand dollars over the $25,000 budget. The bid includes the cost for the vehicle, as well as the cost of a 72 inch snow blade. After much discussion, the board agreed to approve a motion to accept the bid for a 2023 John Deere Gator with the snow blade. The delivery time is estimated at 10 weeks.
