Charles Estes of Marshall was found guilty of a felony of abuse of a child on Wednesday, September 21.

According to a probable cause statement, Estes physically abused a 3-week-old baby. Authorities were contacted by an employee of the Saline County Children’s Division on April 25, 2020. The baby had bruising on its temple are and left cheek, appearing to authorities as if the baby had been grabbed by the face and squeezed.

According to court documents, a three day jury trial in Saline County Circuit Court delivered a verdict of guilty on the charge.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 7.
