The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) announced the re-opening of the shooting range at the Ralph and Martha Perry Memorial Conservation Area in Johnson County on Thursday, October 6. Maintenance and improvements on the range causing a temporary closure have been completed.

MDC made improvements to the backstops and raised berms. Staff also performed routine maintenance at the range which included facility improvements. The shooting range is open for recreational target shooting and for hunters wanting to practice accuracy or sight in scopes on hunting rifles. The range is opens daily at noon through December 31.

The range serves individuals from nearby cities such as Warrensburg, Knob Noster and Concordia. The range has 25, 50 and 100 yard lanes and has safety features such as a covered firing line, enhanced backstops and side berms.

The range is located approximately five miles south of Concordia off of Highway 23.
