Virginia Rose Graver, 84, of rural Malta Bend, MO, died Friday, October 21, 2022, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating.  Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery.  Prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home with visitation following until 7:30 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Community Food Pantry.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born September 11, 1938, in Pilot Grove, MO, she was the daughter of Carl Edwin Diel and Mary Grace Roth Diel.  Virginia’s family moved to the Malta Bend area in 1947 and she graduated from Malta Bend High School in 1956.  On April 22, 1961, she married Ambrose A. Graver Jr. who preceded her in death on December 24, 2003.  They lived in Raytown for many years where Virginia was a homemaker for her family and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Being the mother of three boys, she was a Boy Scout Den Mother for several years.  Virginia returned to Saline County in 2012 and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.  She loved to crochet and volunteered as the librarian at The Living Center.

She is survived by her three sons: Steve Graver (Sarah) of rural Malta Bend, MO, Tim  Graver (Shana) of Meridian, ID and Joe Graver (Annette) of Pattonsburg,  MO; seven grandchildren: Shane Graver (Cathy), Andrew Graver, Ryan Graver (Brittany) Alisha Acevedo (Angelo), Carl Graver, Pierce Graver and Elizabeth Graver; eight great-grandchildren: Brody, Grayson, Dawson and Gavin Graver, Manny, Leah and Milo Acevedo, and Everleigh Parker; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert W. Diel.
