The Blackburn City Council met recently and announced that the city has hired a new police officer. Officer Cody Kay was sworn in and began work. Kay will be working full time and the office is located at the old fire house.

In other news, forms are available for the April 4, 2023 election. The City of Blackburn will have two aldermen positions open for Ward 1 and Ward 2. The position is a two-year term. Forms are available at the city office and need to be returned by December 27, 2022.
