The Central Methodist University (CMU) Concert Band will be performing at its annual holiday concert at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Linn Memorial United Methodist Church in Fayette.

Director Roy Vandelicht and the band will have a number of holiday pieces in store. “Joyance” by CMU alumnus Claude Smith and “March” by former CMU professor Ron Shroyer will be will be played. Smith’s piece was commissioned by the CMU Band in 1975 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Swinney Conservatory of Music. Shroyer is a professor emeritus of music at CMU, having taught from 1976 until his retirement in 2010.

Both pieces, along with two others, will be performed by the band at the upcoming Missouri Music Educators Association Conference in the new year.
