The Sedalia City Council approved a resolution authorizing the city to submit for a State and Local Cybersecurity Grant during its meeting on Monday, December 5.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw said the grant is designed to help local governments fight against fraud or cybersecurity issues.

Shaw said the grant can be up to $200,000, with a 10 percent match. The council approved the resolution to submit for the grant.

In other news from the meeting, the council approved an ordinance adopting a fraud prevention and detection policy for the City of Sedalia. The policy deals with how fraud is reported, investigated, and dealt with.
