A Sedalia woman has been charged with several drug-related felonies in Pettis County after a traffic stop on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

According to the Sedalia Police Department, the Crime Resolution Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Angela Barber-Cox. The traffic stop was the result of a joint drug investigation with the Johnson County Crime Resolution Team.

Barber-Cox’s license was reportedly expired. Officers deployed a K9 unit, which detected the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle discovered a substantial amount of methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Court documents say Barber-Cox has been charged with two felonies for trafficking drugs in the second degree. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.

Barber-Cox was arraigned on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Court arrangements are pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
