Two subjects were arrested after the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search warrant on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

According to Pettis County Sheriff Brad Anders, Drug Task Force detectives and Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies served a search warrant at a residence in Sedalia. This warrant was the culmination of a month-long investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine within Sedalia and Pettis County.
Upon entry, detectives and deputies detained 34-year-old Shane Ruth, and 42-year-old Andy Schultz. Both individuals were found to be in possession of methamphetamine on their persons; Ruth was found to have a no bond parole violation which was later confirmed.

A search of the residence ensued where methamphetamine was located and seized along with various drug paraphernalia. Both Ruth and Schultz were transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Court documents say Shane Ruth was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and Andy Schultz was charged with drug trafficking in the second degree. Bond for Schultz has been set at $100,00 cash or surety.

Schultz has a counsel status hearing scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21; and Ruth has a counsel status hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 21 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
