Gertrude Elizabeth Marsh Steinkuehler, 93, of rural Shackelford, MO, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs with Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, Gertrude requested that donations be made to Fitzgibbon Home Health and Hospice, Sweet Springs Presbyterian Church or Marshall Community Food Pantry.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born December 24, 1929, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Dewey Marsh and Mildred Winslow Marsh.  Gertrude graduated from Sweet Springs High School in 1947.  On June 28, 1947, she married Warner Louis Steinkuehler who preceded her in death on November 7, 2000.  She had lived in Saline and Pettis Counties all of her life and worked alongside her husband on the family farm in addition to being a homemaker for the family.  Gertrude was a member of Sweet Springs Presbyterian Church and its Journey Class, as well as a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include three children: Robert L. Steinkuehler (Karen) of Warrensburg, Marsha Kay Talley (Randal) of Hogansville, GA and James L. Steinkuehler (Christine) of rural Shackelford; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one daughter, Mary Beth Steinkuehler; and one brother, Paul Herbert Marsh.
