Two subjects were arrested after a month long investigation into methamphetamine distribution in Pettis and Moniteau Counties.

According to Pettis County Sheriff Brad Anders, a traffic stop was conducted on March 22, 2023 in the area of U.S. 50 and Dresden Road near La Monte. Investigators from the Mid-Mo Drug Task Force, Pettis County Drug Task Force, and Benton County Sheriff’s Office detained 41-year-old Christopher Hooper and 42-year-old Melissa Clark.

A consent search of the vehicle was granted at which time deputies located 168 grams of methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia consistent with use and distribution of methamphetamine. Hooper and Clark were arrested and later transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Court documents say that Hooper and Clark are both charged with a felony for trafficking drugs in the second degree. Bond for each subject is $50,000 cash or surety.
