The Saline County Commission approved a contract with Veregy of Chesterfield, Missouri to renovate the Saline County Jail during its meeting on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

Northern Commissioner Stephanie Gooden stated the project would cost approximately $3.4 million.

Southern Commissioner Monte Fenner gave an update on the work that will be done at the jail.

In other news from the meeting the commission approved access to the courthouse lawn for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention “Out of the Darkness Suicide Walk” event. The event will take place from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
