A Sedalia man was charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance on Monday, March 27, 2023.

According to a probable cause statement, a Sedalia Police Officer made contact with Bryan Evans at 1:50 a.m. on Monday, March 27 inside the U.S. Post Office in Sedalia. Evans informed the officer he possibly had a city warrant for his arrest. The officer was informed by dispatch that Evans had two warrants for his arrest from Henry County and one from Probation and Parole.

After placing Evans under arrest, the officer allegedly located a baggie containing a crystalline type substance in his clothes. The officer tested the substance at the scene and a positive result for the presence of methamphetamine was indicated.

According to court documents, bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Evans was arraigned on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 and has a counsel status hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
