Elizabeth “Lizz” Anne Bantrup- Green, 89 of Sedalia passed away, Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Fairview Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10am, Friday, September 6, 2024 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel, with Fr Joe Coral officiating. The family will receive friends from 9am until services time at the church. A burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, with Glenn Holgate, Michael Holgate, Billie Mann, Timothy Mann and Rod Schlotzhauer acting as pallbearers. The family suggests memorial donations to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and/or Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Lizz was born July 8, 1935 in Boonville, to the late Oscar M. and Iola L. Neal Fetters. She attended schools in Boonville, graduating from St. Peter and Paul High School, with the class of 1953.
On July 19, 1954, in Kaiserslautern, Germany, she married Roger A. W. Bantrup. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1990. She later married James “Jim” Robert Green on February 14, 1993, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2019.
Survivors include her daughters Terri Holgate (Glenn) of Sedalia, Teresa Schlotzhauer (Rod) of Hartsburg and Kari Mann (Billie) of Sedalia; sister Martha Kaufman of Burlington along with five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Lizz was preceded in death by her son Timothy M. Bantrup and two brothers Matt and John Fetters.
She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a lector, lay minister and a Catholic youth organization sponsor and teacher. She was a chairwoman of the Sacred Heart Worship Commission for two years and sponsored a Cambodian family of 10 through the church.
She was a member of the Sunnyside Extension Club for six years, where she served as president three times and vice president two terms. She had been a Cub Scout den mother, Girl scout leader and a craft leader for 4-H. She donated her time to Citizens Against Spouse Abuse, Birthright, Salvation Army, the Division of Family services, Buena Vista Nursing Home, United Way and Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was an active member of Pettis County Emergency Management Agency.
Lizz would never say goodbye, she would say “Later.” She loved all dogs and any teddy bear.
