Sedalia’s city council voted last week to accept the federal grant covering 90 percent of the cost to improve the municipal airport’s runway and taxiway.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw says the project to rehab the north taxiway and 500 feet of the runway will total $580,000 and take about two years to complete.

Also at last week’s meeting, the Sedalia city council accepted a quote from Neumayer Equipment to upgrade the self-serve fuel system at the airport, totaling $13,376.83. The council also approved a variance request allowing wider driveways along State Fair Boulevard into Gardner Denver.
