William Giles “Bill” Kiser, 70, of rural Marshall, MO, died Monday, September 23, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, north of Marshall. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Born April 3, 1954, in Lawrence, KS, although he never wanted that mentioned, he was the son of the late James Dyer Kiser and Dolly Lunbeck Kiser. Bill lived in rural Saline County most of his life where he was a 1972 graduate of Malta Bend High School. On July 24, 1976, he married Barbara Susan Potter who survives of the home. Bill was a lifelong farmer, which is what he always wanted to do, as well as working some with David Gauldin Drilling and Boedeker Construction through the years. Bill served as the board president of Malta Bend Schools for five years and was a member of Malta Bend United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, Barbara; he is survived by four children: Giles Kiser (Kim) of Liberty, Brett Kiser of St. Genevieve, Dody Bishop (Jake) of Marshall and Dan Kiser (Megan) of rural Malta Bend; five grandchildren: Donovan, Grayson, Ila, Andrew and Genevieve; one brother, Jim Kiser (Debbie) of rural Marshall; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
