William (Bill) D. Castle, 89, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

William was born in Shackleford, MO, on March 7, 1935, the son of William J. Castle and Winifred (Jacoby) Castle. He was united in marriage to Nancy Anne Castle.

Bill was a builder, developer, farmer, rancher, landowner and family man. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea.

He is survived by the mother of his children: Nancy Anne; his sons: Matthew Todd Castle (Katherine), John D. Castle (Tina), Luke Pelteir Castle, Michael Castle (Cheryl), Timothy Joseph Castle and Nathan Castle (Diane); his sister, Sara Morris; his grandchildren: Cole, Austin, Marisa, Piper, John Wayne, Cash, Coralee, Mark Alex, Maclyn, Max, Zachary, Tanner and Kendall; and eight great-grandchildren: Quinley, Addisyn, Casen, Cohen, Ayden, Ava, David and Emma Grace.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark William Castle; his brothers: Glenn Castle, Leo Castle and William Castle, Jr.; his sisters: Patricia Campbell, Jean Burnside, and Sister Eleanor Castle, RSM; and a granddaughter, Jessica Anne “Annie” Castle.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 2, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from: 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. An additional visitation will take place at from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Graveside services with military rites will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery.
