The Slater City Council approved a quote for the city’s annual audit during its meeting on Tuesday, December 3.

City Administrator Gene Griffith said the council received a $23,600 quote from Gerding Korte and Chitwood to conduct an audit for the city.

Griffith expects the audit to be complete by the end of April 2025.

In other news, the city received a $2,000 award from MIRMA to reimburse the cost of one of the cameras the council installed at the city park. Also, the council discussed the Chamber of Commerce’s House Christmas Light contest in the city limits. All participants must have everything set up by 5:30 p.m. December 17 to be judged in the contest. Residents can sign up at city hall. The top prize is $125.
