
A Tipton man suffered serious injuries after his vehicle went off a Moniteau County roadway after it was hit by a piece of ice Thursday evening.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a large piece of ice fell off an unknown vehicle heading south on Route 5 about a mile south of Tipton. and struck the windshield of a northbound vehicle driven by a 60-year-old man. The man’s vehicle went off the left edge of the roadway and struck a fence around 5:15 p.m. The driver was taken to a Camdenton hospital.
The Patrol reminds drivers to make sure their vehicles are completely clean of snow before driving. They also remind drivers to reduce your speed when the roadway appears wet or snow is present, and to use your headlights to increase visibility.
