The Sweet Springs R-VII School Board of Education finalized dates for this June’s summer school session, as well as next year’s.

At last Wednesday’s meeting, the board established the 2024-25 summer school term as between June 2 and 13. The board then approved next year’s summer school term to run from June 1-12, 2026, as well as next year’s prom on March 28 and high school graduation on Friday, May 8, 2026. The board also approved a two-percent increase to the base of classified staff salaries for the next school year, and allowed appropriate step movements.

Prior to that action, the board reorganized to reflect last week’s school board elections, welcoming Jacob Barbee to the board while Crystal Hoyes returned for another three-year term. Martha Dohrman was retained as president, with Robert Fuehring as vice president, Crystal Hoyes as treasurer, Darla Reid as secretary, and Ricky Rennison as representative to the Missouri School Boards Association.

The Sweet Springs R-VII School Board will next meet May 7.
