Vinnie Pasquantino drilled two homers and drove in six runs, Kris Bubic went seven strong innings, and the Kansas City Royals cruised to a 9-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, July 4.

The Royals opened the scoring in the first when Pasquantino launched a three-run homer over the right field fence. Arizona would respond in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs after a sac-fly and an RBI single.

The Kansas City offense got back to work in the second inning, with RBI singles from Pasquantino and Bobby Witt Jr., and a groundout from Salvador Perez that drove home another run.

Pasquantino launched his second homer of the game in the fourth, a two-run shot to make it 8-2 Kansas City. Mark Canha joined in on the fun, connecting on his first home run of the year in the fifth.

Eugenio Suarez drilled his 28th homer of the year off Bubic in the sixth to round out the scoring. Bubic picked up the win after going seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with six punchouts.

The Royals improve to 42-47, 13 games back of Detroit for the AL Central lead.

The Royals will go for the series win in Arizona today. Pregame begins at 2:30 p.m., with first pitch at 3:10 on KMMO AM 1300.
