
The Sedalia City Council approved an agreement Monday, Apr. 6 with HDR Engineering for the design of improvements to the city’s central wastewater treatment plant.

The council also approved a request for the purchase of a replacement pump and motor from Flynn Drilling for one of the city’s water wells, totaling nearly $68,943. Separately, Wirt provided an update on repairs to West 16th Street between Barrett and Park, nearly two months after a water main break amid freezing temperatures. He tells KMMO News that crews could complete the repairs to the street later this month.
Also Monday night, the council approved the annual appropriation of $140,000 for the Sedalia-Pettis County Economic Development Corporation, and authorized the purchase of a used SUV for use by the cemetery department. The council also accepted bids for a number of fire protection systems, inspection, testing and maintenance from Ideal Fire Services. A separate motion accepted Ideal’s bid to replace the fire alarm system at the city’s municipal building, totaling $47,522.
