The Warrensburg R-6 School District has released an update following air quality testing results from Martin Warren Elementary.

Concerns for radon were raised by staff members in March, prompting the district to contract Titan Environmental Services to perform the indoor air quality tests. Based off of air quality testing results released Thursday, some areas of the elementary school building will need to be mitigated. District Superintendent Steve Ritter says staff have closed the building and moved to AMI instruction to allow for full mitigation of Martin Warren.

No other buildings in the district are affected by this decision. Although ongoing radon testing indicates the building remains safe for occupancy, Indoor Air Quality results identified areas that require mitigation for air quality. ServPro will be on-site over the weekend to begin the mitigation process. Ritter thanks district patrons for their patience as they work to get students back in Martin Warren Elementary.

If AMI instruction does need to continue throughout next week, the district will make Chromebooks available for student pickup on Monday. The latest testing results can be viewed here.
