A 17-year-old from Cairo was injured after his pickup traveled off the left side of County Road 1365 on Tuesday, June 2.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the teen’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway three miles south of Cairo at 2:40 p.m. The vehicle then struck a guardrail, an embankment, then overturned before coming to rest in a creek.

The juvenile driver suffered serious injuries in the accident and was taken to Moberly Regional Medical Center for treatment. Troopers report the teen was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
