The 69th Saline County BBQ was brought up during the regular session of the County Commission on Wednesday, June 3.

The event will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 6 on the Marshall Square. Saline County Clerk Brittni Burton provided more information about this weekend’s event.

 

In other news from Wednesday’s session, Northern Commissioner Stephanie Gooden provided an update regarding a community cleanup event that will be held in Saline County on Saturday, June 13. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Saline County Fairgrounds. Furniture, clothes, electronic scap, and bulk debris will be accepted. Tires will be accepted at the event with a small fee. Two non-freon based appliances can also be accepted per household.

Commissions also approved the payment schedule, five liquor license renewals, and several new hires at the Sheriff’s and Prosecuting Attorney’s offices.
