A Sedalia man drowned after he went into the water at a Truman Lake beach Saturday, July 18.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 36-year-old entered the water at the Shawnee Bend Swim Beach, just upstream from Truman Dam. Troopers say the man entered the water after 8 a.m. and went under the surface, but did not return. The patrol located and brought the man back to surface around 8:40 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Benton County Coroner.
