St Louis City SC are now unbeaten in their last nine contests, following a 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake at Energizer Park on Saturday, Aug. 1.

Marcel Hartel scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season in the 72nd minute, which brought City level after Salt Lake’s Sergi Solans opened the scoring 12 minutes earlier. City outshot Salt Lake 18-7, with five shots on target for St Louis. City remain seventh in the Western Conference on 26 points. They have next weekend off before visiting San Jose to face the Earthquakes.

Sporting Kansas City played short-handed in the second half, allowing Houston to score twice as KC fell to the Dynamo 2-0. Lars Berg Johnsen picked up two yellow cards during the first half for a series of reckless tackles, resulting in Sporting having just ten men after halftime. Houston got on the board in the 55th minute with a strike from the edge of the penalty area by Guilherme. The Dynamo added their second goal in the 71st minute from the foot of Agustin Bouzat. Sporting are also off next weekend before traveling to Colorado for a contest against the Rapids.
